As the end of the year approaches, 4th grade students are thinking about life at the middle school next fall! A variety of activities help prepare them for this transition. Last month, HKMS School Counselors visited each elementary school to talk about 5th grade classes, classrooms, lockers, and activities are like. Students also had the opportunity to ask some questions about life as a 5th grader. This past week, I visited each classroom to talk about what school counseling looks like at HKMS, and how their counselor will continue to be a resource for them. Students completed an "all about me" sheet, which I will pass on to their counselors next year to provide a chance to get to know the incoming class before they even arrive. This week, all 4th graders will be visiting the middle school to see their 5th grade pod and classrooms, and hear from current HKMS students.
